The life of this world is but a sport and a pastime.
In my years as a reporter/journalist/blogger, I've learned that there is so much more to sports than just games and statistics. It's about human beings. It's about emotion. It's about competition. It's about friendship. It's about life.
And of course, it's also about scoring more points than the other guy.
That's what I hope to get across here at Sandberg On Sports. Sports are something to be taken seriously when it calls for it, and to have fun with it above all else.
I've been writing a sports column on and off since I was a junior at Franklin High School. Kept it up in college at Gonzaga University. Now I'm bringing it here, in my extra time while working as a TV news reporter.
At this site, you will find my sports columns, as well as thoughts on journalism, media, and life. I'll also send you toward some of the best writers I know - my friends.
Somtimes it will be serious. Sometimes it will be funny. Sometimes it will even be good (fingers crossed). But above all else, I write what I mean, and mean what I say.
